The country has moved a step closer to a referendum on easing the restrictions and waiting times for divorce.
Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan announced last night that the bill had passed through the Dail and is now headed to the Seanad.
If it passes this final hurdle, the referendum will be held on May 24th - the same day as the local and European elections.
The referendum would ask voters if they want to reduce the waiting time for a divorce for separated couples from four years to two.
