The Education Minister says it will be a number of days until the students who've been impacted by errors in the calculated grades system are informed.
Minister Norman Foley will address the Dail this afternoon after promising no student will be disadvantaged by the mistake.
The deadline for applying to sit a written exam in November has been moved from tomorrow, and with a new closing date to be confirmed soon.
Two errors in the algorithm resulted in approximately 6,500 students receiving the wrong results.
