Ex-Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has been sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work, after admitting assaulting his former fiancee.
The band announced yesterday that its lead singer had stepped down.
They had cited personal issues as the reason behind the decision:
Tom Meighan is stepping down from Kasabian by mutual consent. Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track. We will not be commenting further.

Today Tom Meighan appeared before Leicester Magistrates Court which heard details of the incident in April.
It was reported to the police by a child.
Vikki Ager suffered bruising to her knees, left elbow, ankle and big toe as well as reddening around the neck.
Tom Meighan originally denied assault but after seeing CCTV, he changed his mind.
The court was told the singer "smelt heavily of intoxicants" and his lawyer said he's tried to address his offending behaviour.
