The Justice Minister has expressed grave concern of the fire which broke out at a hotel in Co. Rosommon last night.
Two small fires broke out on the first floor of the Shannon Key West Hotel in Rooskey.
They were brought under control at around 9:15pm and no serious damage was caused.
Minister Charlie Flanagan has condemned last nights incident:
This pattern of behaviour represents an unacceptable and worrying development and should be condemned by all.
It comes just 5 weeks after a previous fire at the Shannon Key West Hotel which is earmarked for asylum seekers.
Minister Flanagan said the person or people responsible for this attack have shown a reckless disregard for the safety of human life and no respect for private property.
Minister Flanagan says:
Incidents like those in Rooskey and in Moville in Donegal impede our ability to provide these compassionate services on behalf of the people of Ireland. Asylum seekers come to Ireland seeking the protection of the State.
