The IMO says it will consider an invitation to talks at the LRC over the junior doctors dispute.
Over 3,000 non-consultant doctors have been on strike today in a dispute over the enforcement of EU rules on working hours.
The IMO says it's received a letter from the HSE which accepts the need for sanctions to prevent junior doctors being forced to work dangerous hours.
Meanwhile, the Health Minister says he remains committed to bringing Ireland into line with the EU directive on working hours by the end of next year.
But he says a solution can only be agreed at the negotiating table, and not at the picket lines.
