Jozef Puska Takes The Stand In Trial Where He's Accused Of Murder
The man accused of murdering Ashling Murphy has taken the stand in his trial before the Central Criminal Court.
At around 3.30 pm Jozef Puska was sworn in to give evidence before a jury – which he is doing so through an interpreter.
Jozef Puska's defence is going into evidence. Mr Puska himself has been called as their first witness.
He is accused of murdering Ashling Murphy along the grand canal in Tullamore last year.

In evidence, defence counsel Michael Bowman asked him to recall his movements on the morning of January 12th, 2022 – the day Ashling Murphy died.
He told the jury he travelled into Tullamore from his home in Mucklagh that morning.
He recalled seeing a lady walking her dog – later named Anne Marie Kelly – and he denied he was following her.
When asked about CCTV footage showing him behind Ms. Kelly, Jozef Puska said ‘there was no bad intention whatsoever’, adding that he ‘had no intention to follow anyone at all’.
