The Egyptian military is cracking down on demonstrations by Muslim Brotherhood supporters using tear-gas and shotguns firing pellets or 'birdshot', with several journalists being caught up in the violence.
Soldiers earlier fired live rounds on crowds outside a military building, leaving at least 3 dead and many more injured, and are attempting to dispel the protest by force.
BBC's Middle East Editor Jeremy Bowen (pictured above) was hit in the head but has since said he is alright:

Meanwhile, 3 members of a Channel 4 news team were also caught up in the violence, with the station's Foreign Affairs Coreespondent, Jonathan Rugman tweeting:
