John Delaney says he cannot comment further on the €100,000 loan he gave to the FAI.
The former Chief Executive of the association says he can't comment due to legal advice.
Delaney said "on legal advice I'm precluded from making any further comments at this hearing in relation to the finances of the association, my former role of CEO, or the €100,000 payment either directly or indirectly."
Senior FAI officials are appearing before the Oireachtas Sport Committee to answer questions on the money, and governance within the organisation.
Earlier, the FAI revealed it was at risk of having "insufficient funds" in April 2017.
It says that's what led to former CEO John Delaney providing a personal cheque for "immediate financial relief".
The money was repaid in June 2017, and the FAI board was told about the payment on March 4th 2019.
