The parents of Jastine Valdez, who was abducted in broad daylight and killed in May 2018, say they'll never understand how such evil can exist in the world.
A verdict of unlawful killing has been returned in the inquest into the 24-year-old's death.
It took the jury less than 30 minutes to return a verdict of unlawful killing at the inquest into the death of Jastine Valdez, who was abducted in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow after getting off a bus on the 19th of May 2018.
Her body was recovered two days later in Rathmichael in south Dublin, while Mark Hennessy was shot dead by a garda after being confronted at the Cherrywood Business Park.
Witness Susan Forsyth told the inquest she saw a woman being pushed into the boot of a dark coloured car and as she was overtaking, she heard a woman screaming.
A statement from Nicola Hennessy said her husband Mark left their home at 5.25 pm on 19 May saying he was going to get wine.
He answered the phone at 8am the following day and said he slept in his car at the seafront and would be home shortly.
Deputy State Pathologist Dr Linda Mulligan told the inquest the cause of death was asphyxia and a toxicology report showed low levels of cocaine in Jastine's system.
