The ISPCA has called for the Agriculture Minister to immediately suspend the export of Irish dairy calves from Ireland to France and the Netherlands.
It's after footage emerged of Irish calves being physically abused by workers at a control post in France over the weekend.
The video shows them being kicked, dragged by the ears, thrown and stamped on by workers.
The ISPCA wants Minister Michael Creed to launch an immediate investigation into their treatment.
The Eyes on Animals investigation also found that the trucks being used to transport the cattle were overcrowded and did not have accessible drinking water for the calves during the journey.
The ISPCA is also concerned about the large increase in the number of dairy calves being exported to the continent from Ireland over the past few years.
29,000 calves have already been exported this year, 34% more than the same period in 2018.
