The deployment of a contingent of Irish peacekeeping troops to Syria has been delayed for a number of weeks.
The first group of 115 soldiers were due to fly out in the coming days, to spend six months in the Golan Heights region.
The Defence Forces says the United Nations requested a three week postponement last night, due to administrative issues.
The problem relates to a difficulty in getting clearance for personnel and equipment to cross the border between Lebanon and Syria.
