Irish people will be blocked from streaming Premier League matches illegally when the new season begins in August.
The Commercial Court has granted the Premier League an order against internet service providers in Ireland including Sky, Virgin and Vodafone to block the live streaming of games.
It's the first time an order like this has been granted in Ireland, while similar orders were obtained in the UK last year.
Tech journalist Jess Kelly says; 'There are so many different websites that you can on to and watch illegal content and rather than the Premier League scouring and shutting down every single website that is hosting this content, you're internet service provider is going to block it before it comes into your home'.
