The Education Minister is welcoming the improvement by Irish 15 year olds in maths, reading and science - but says there's no room for complacency.
Ireland improved across all three subjects - but that's against the backdrop of disappointing results in the last study in 2009.
Ireland now ranks fourth in reading out of 34 OECD countries, seventh for science and 13th for maths.
