Ireland's tallest ever tree has been crowned at Powerscourt in Co. Wicklow.
A Douglas Fir along Powerscourt River Walk has been officially recognised as the tallest tree in Ireland since records began.
The tree stands at 61.5 metres, or 202 ft, towering above well-known landmarks including Dublin's Liberty Hall - which is just 59.5 metres.
But the tree is still a mere shrub beside the world's tallest tree in California - which topped out at 155 metres or 379 feet.
