Ireland is to buy one million vaccines from Romania.
We have entered an agreement in principle to make the purchase.
Many of the details were worked out between Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis this morning.
However, the process is yet to be completed.
A spokesperson for the Taoiseach said more work is underway to buy further vaccine supply from other EU countries that have a surplus.
Speaking earlier, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn said everyone in Ireland who wants a Covid vaccine will likely be able to get one by the end of August.
