Survival rates for some common cancers are lower in Ireland than in most other European countries.
A study by EUROCARE of over 170 thousand patients in Ireland shows that we have lower rates for many common cancers including colonic, ovarian and kidney cancer.
However, our survival rates are higher when it comes to cancer of the rectum, breast and prostate - as well as melanoma and lymphomas.
