Ireland has declared the building of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories "de facto annexation".
It's after the Dail passed a Sinn Fein motion on the issue last night.
The move makes Ireland the first EU country to recognise Israel's settlements in this way.
An amendment that also called for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador and place sanctions on the country was rejected.
Israel's Foreign Ministry has described the Irish position as "outrageous and baseless".
In a statement, it says the motion distances Ireland from its ambition to contribute and play a constructive role in the Israeli-Palestinian context.
