A teenage girl's been injured and treated for shock after being assaulted by a man in County Kilkenny.
It happened near Johnstown shortly after midday.
Gardaí confirm they’re investigating the assault of a teenage girl in Kilkenny.
It happened just after midday near Johnstown.
She was approached by a man, assaulted and he fled the scene.
The suspect is described by Gardaí as “a white male in his 40s with an Irish accent”.

Investigating Gardai say a teenage girl was approached by a man near Johnstown just after 12 this afternoon, she was assaulted and the man fled the scene.
The girl was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital Kilkenny and treated for shock and a physical injury which is not life threatening. Gardaí have carried out an initial interview with the girl.
The man is described, as white in his 40s with an Irish accent.
Gardai are appealing for anyone travelling on the R639 between Johnstown and The Gallops (a minor road also known locally as Cullinanes Lane), Ballyspellan between 11am and 12.15pm, to contact them.
They particularly want to hear from anyone with any video footage to come forward.
They say they are continuing to carry out inquiries and recover CCTV from the area.
