An inquest into the death of model Katy French is to get underway today.
It may finally establish whether cocaine played a part in the 24 year old’s death.
Katy French suffered brain damage and died in hospital on December 6th 2007 days after celebrating her 24th birthday.
According to her family tests revealed half a glass of wine and 0.8mg of cocaine in her system, along with traces of antibiotics, cough medicine and contraceptives.
In February, 43-year-old Kieron Ducie with an address at Kilmessan in Co Meath and his former partner Ann Corcoran of Tolka Road, Dublin were given suspended prison sentences for procuring a person to supply cocaine to the model.
Now that criminal matters are at an end the inquest can get underway. It’s due to start today at Trim Courthouse.
