The INMO Executive Council has recommended acceptance of Labour Court proposals aimed at ending the nurse’s dispute.
Three consecutive strike days, due to be held this week, were suspended after the Labour Court intervened on Monday.
The INMO (Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation) will now hold a series of briefings across the country, to inform members about what is contained in the proposals.
The briefings will be held over the coming weeks with a ballot to take place between the 11th and 25th March.
Over 40,000 nurses from the INMO and the Psychiatric Nurses Association (PNA) suspended their strike action after the recommendations were issued on Monday.
Update from Phil: what's been shared isn't the full proposals.

The INMO said the proposals make progress 'across all areas of concern' - including to address staffing, recruitment and retention problems.
INMO General Secretary Phil Ní Sheaghdha said: “There is still more negotiation to be done, but we are at a point where we believe strikes can be suspended.”
"Safe staffing along with recruitment and retention were key concerns for us, and we have made progress on both," she said.
The Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe said the proposals are consistent with the public service pay agreement.
