Cosmetic manufactures are struggling to import a key ingredient that's used in a wide range of products - from fake tan to shampoo.
The price of the chemical, called Ethoxydiglycol, has jumped from €12 per kilo to €103, according to one UK online pharmacy.
Other raw materials are proving difficult to deliver.
The cost of DHA (dihydroxyacetone) and erythrulose are also reportedly climbing.
The two ingredients give the all-essential tanned colour to skin.
