Hundreds of people say they saw a strange 'fireball' flying across the sky last night.
The International Meteor Organisation (IMO) has so far recorded 876 reports and sightings about a 'glowing flash' last night.
The IMO says reports of sightings have been recorded across Ireland, from counties including Dublin, Louth, Limerick, Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cavan, Clare, Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, and Tipperary.
The UK Meteor Network says the "preliminary trajectory has been calculated by the IMO and indicates that the object, which we now believe to be space debris, would have landed in the Atlantic south of the Hebrides."

There have been nearly 800 reports of the fireball that was seen over UK last night. The preliminary trajectory has been calculated by the IMO and indicates that the object, which we now believe to be space debris, would have landed in the Atlantic south of the Hebrides. pic.twitter.com/skSvl0YH5Y
