All 19 of the country's maternity units are fully compliant with guidelines on partner access, according to the HSE.
This states that partners should be allowed to visit for a minimum of 30 minutes a day.
As well as this, they should be facilitated during labour, the anomaly scan or any other visit of emotional significance, and given access to the NICU.
Today the Oireachtas Health Committee was told that all 19 of the states maternity units are following these rules.
Despite this, some TDs said they had heard from constituents who did not receive such access.
Deputy John Lahart said he had received an email from a woman in a Dublin maternity unit who watched people come and go alone.
Senator Sean Kyne also heard from a woman who said the uncertainty around the situation was crippling and pleaded for the issues to be resolved.
