The HSE has been given until Monday to pay the ransom being demanded by the criminals behind last week's cyber attack.
Bloomberg is reporting the hackers have laid down the demand and threatened that more details will be released if no money is received.
It's believed they are looking for $20 million.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says there will be a full investigation into what happened and how the hackers managed to get in.
The cyber attack has caused significant disruption for the health system over the past week or so.
Some systems are expected to be back and running within days.
However, it will take weeks before they all resume.
Delays and cancellations continue in many hospitals with people asked only to attend Emergency Departments if necessary.
