The average annual shop is €868 more expensive than last year.
Kantar has measured grocery inflation to be at a record high of 12.4%.
The cost of everyday staples like butter, milk and bread are now costing 28% more than they did this time last year.
Kantar's report also suggests that consumers are doing fewer 'big shops' and going more often with shopping trips increasing by nearly 4%.
32% of shoppers - almost a third say they are struggling to make ends meet - which is up from 23% in March.
The study shows that consumers are spending more than €860 more a year for their shopping - which works out at around €3.36 a basket.
With Halloween just around the corner - Kantar says there's been a 24% increase in pumpkin sales on last year - with shoppers spending €1.3m more on sweets and €800,000 on chocolate.
