High-level talks will take place today between the hospitality sector and Government representatives on the reopening of indoor dining.
Service indoors had been due to resume today but it's been postponed due to NPHET's concerns about the Delta variant of Covid-19.
Restaurant and pub owners say they’re going into the talks with a"n open mind and a blank sheet of paper".
They're hoping indoor service can reopen by July 19th. However, they're concerned NPHET won’t attend the discussions.
Noel Anderson, chair of the Licensed Vintners Association, says it's disappointing:
"A lot of these decisions are coming through NPHET and we need them in the room. It's disappointing they're not there.
"We see the corona pass as extremely divisive, poetically illegal, and discriminatory.
"But to be honest with you, we don't really see the need for it.
"On the 19th of July, there'll be 57% of the population fully vaccinated."
