A record number of 10,305 people were homeless in March.
The latest Department of Housing figures show 6,484 adults and 3,821 children were living in hotels and B&Bs that month.
It's a rise of 41 on the numbers recorded in February.
The Housing Minister says "considerable efforts" are being made to help find permanent homes.
Inner City Helping Homeless has slammed the government's efforts to combat homelessness, pointing to the deaths of 2 homeless men in Cork in the past 4 days.
A statement from ICHH criticised the government for providing plenty of "sound bites with no solutions".
Merchant's Quay Ireland has also said that the latest homeless figures show a 58% increase in the number of people homeless since launch of Rebuilding Ireland:
