Dublin City Councilor Anthony Flynn has died.
Mr Flynn's body was discovered at a property in Caledon Court, East Wall this afternoon.
In a statement, Gardai say they are investigating "all the circumstances following the discovery".
A post-mortem will take place in due course, the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
Anthony Flynn was well known as the CEO of Inner City Helping Homeless.
He helped found the group in 2013.
