An Irishman who was killed in Ukraine yesterday has been described as "one of the good ones".
Fox News cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski died after the vehicle he was in was hit with incoming fire in Horenka, a village just outside of Kyiv.
In a statement Fox News described Pierre as a "passionate journalist" whose talents were unmatched.
Foreign Correspondent with the LA Times Marcus Yam became close with Pierre when the pair covered the conflict in Afghanistan.
"We we exited Afghanistan together and I remember this moment so well..."
"Everyone had to load up their luggage onto this military truck and everyone was moving so slowly and Pierre just hopped up".
"Pierre just volunteered and he just helped everybody, including all the exiting refugees."
Marcus said he'll remember Pierre as fearless and brave.
Meanwhile a school friend Stephen O'Dea has also been paying tribute to his old classmate.
He described him as an "adventurous soul" who left no stone unturned.
Stephen, who met Pierre while studying in St Conleth's College in Dublin, said Pierre even turned around while hiking Mount Everest, to help a struggling climber return safely.
"That's just who he was," Stephen said.
Pierre is survived by his wife Michelle, his mother, who is French, and his five siblings. Two of his brothers and his mother still live in Ireland.
