Up to 35 millimeters of heavy rain is expected to fall on some parts of the country today.
The larger totals are likely to be over southern and eastern counties.
It comes as Met Eireann issues a status yellow rainfall warning for Munster and Leinster.

The national forecaster says rain will move in from the South this afternoon.
The warning is in place from 3 o clock this afternoon until 6 tomorrow morning.
