R Kelly has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for sex trafficking, by a court in New York.
Victims described his "God-like complex" and how he used his "fame and power" over decades to entice them.
The judge said the evidence reflected Kelly's "indifference to human suffering" and "sheer brutality" toward his victims.
Lizette Martinez was one of his victims. She met Kelly when she was 17 when she was aspiring to become a singer.
"I was a girl full of life, very innocent but very driven."
"I was promised a mentorship but I very quickly became a sex slave."
Another survivor, Jovante Cunningham, first met Kelly when she was 14 and was one of his backing dancers.
She told reporters outside the courthouse she was proud of herself, her fellow survivors and the US judicial system.
"30 years did he do this and 30 years is what he got," she added.
R Kelly's defence lawyer Jennifer Bonjean is hopeful his conviction will be overturned on appeal.
