Health Minister Simon Harris has said the reproductive rate of COVID-19 has fallen further.
The R0 has fallen from between 0.5 to 0.8 to as low as 0.3 to 0.8.
He told the Dáil the overall rate is now considered 'stable', at around 0.5.
While modelling suggests admissions to hospitals and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) have also dropped.
These have both halved in the last week, Minister Harris said.
"Last week hospital admissions were around 40 a day - whereas this week, I'm told by the modelling that it's around 20 a day".
"And last week ICU admissions were around four to six a day, whereas the modelling now tells me it's around two a day this week".
