The Football Association of Ireland has announced that the computer servers at its Abbotstown headquarters were hacked last weekend.
In a statement, the association said the servers were targeted by an external source.
It moved to assure customers that their payment details remain secure as they are stored off-site.
It said ticket sales are also unaffected as they are “processed and paid for via a third party platform.”
The association’s email services were damaged in the attack but are now partially restored.
The Gardaí and the Data Protection Commission have been informed and Forensic computer scientists are currently on-site.
Efforts to restore email services to staff are currently ongoing.
