A new dedicated cycling unit to deliver a bike lane network in Dublin is a positive step, according to cycling advocates.
But the Dublin Cycling Campaign says the a senior civil servant should be appointed to co-ordinate sustainable transport in the Department of Transport.
The Times Ireland reports the National Transport Authority plans to outsource the work of the unit, with at least seven staff on the team.
