The Green Party leader says it’s likely the country will reopen from Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions in stages and not all in one go.
Senior Ministers are meeting this morning to discuss how the Government will exit lockdown next week.
The Government's preference is to move directly to Level 3, while it's expected NPHET will take a cautious approach.
On average, 334 cases were reported every day over the last five days.
Speaking on his way into Cabinet this morning, Minister Eamon Ryan says it needs to be done carefully:
"Today's only the start of a week of deliberation so we'll make a call closer to it; and it will probably be, I imagine, a kind of a staged opening; it won't be all in one go so fingers crossed."
