An asylum seeker who ran for local elections this year says she's got mixed feelings about the Government's latest attempt to reform direct provision.
Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan says an expert group being launched today will improve long term planning, and engage better with communities where accommodation centres are being considered.
Direct Provision campaigner Ellie Kisyombe says she's concerned that recommendations from their last group are still outstanding.
She is happy the government wants to do more to reform the system but says recommendations from the 2014 report still need to be implemented.
Ellie wants a time-line on the new proposals and a commitment from Charlie Flanagan about when any new findings will be acted upon.
