The Taoiseach says the Government has been notified of Irish job losses at Meta.
The parent company of Facebook is cutting 10,000 jobs worldwide with a small number of those based in Ireland.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is in Washington DC today meeting with Enterprise Ireland companies.
He's said Meta is one of a number of tech companies changing structures after the pandemic:
"We've received notification from Meta of a number of further job losses and obviously want to extend my sympathies to those affected and to assure them that the government's going to be there with them to make sure that they get the help they need in terms of income supports, our education, training opportunities, help to set up a new business if they want to.
"That's all gonna be there.
"I'm not gonna put the number on it, but is is a relatively small number, but it's up to matters to talk to their own staff about that and wouldn't be right for me to put a number on."
