The Golden Globe Awards nominations were announced this morning in Los Angeles, and as usual, there were a few surprises from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
12 years a slave, Captain Phillips, Gravity, Philomena and Rush were nominated for best picture drama.
There were also nominations for Idris Elba for Mandela: A Long Walk To Freedom, Chiwetel Ejiofor for 12 Years A Slave, Tom Hanks for Captain Phillips, Matthew McConaughey in the Dallas Buyers Club and Robert Redford, All Is Lost
And the females getting the nod were Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine, Sandra Bullock for Gravity, Judi Dench as Philomena, Emma Thompson in Saving Mr. Banks and Kate Winslet, Labor Day
While Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Breaking Bad scored big among television nominees.
The Golden Globes will air on the 12th of January with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey returning as hosts.
American Hustle leads the way - with 7 nods.
