Gardai have upgraded their investigation into a stabbing in Kildare to a murder inquiry.
It's after a man in his 30s was stabbed in Newbridge town on Wednesday, April 7th.
Gardai have confirmed this afternoon that the man died of his injuries in hospital on Saturday.
Following a post mortem examination, the Garda investigation has been upgraded to murder.
Meanwhile, Gardaí are renewing their appeal for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.
In particular, they want to hear from anyone who was in the Main Street / Thomas Street area of Newbrighe between 5.30pm and 8pm last Wednesday.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the time of the incident.
He is currently before the courts charged in connection with the case.
