Gardaí Investigating Separate Attacks in Cork
Gardaí are investigating two separate serious incidents in Cork.
The first is into a suspected arson attack on a pub in the city.
Firefighters responded to reports that someone had doused a part of the property in petrol before setting it alight.
No one was injured in the incident and a man in his 30s has been arrested and is being questioned.
Staff had managed to extinguish the fire themselves.
Separately, there's an investigation into how a grenade was thrown at a house in the Ballyvolane area.
Residents were evacuated from their homes last night after the suspect device was found in the garden of a house.
A controlled explosion was carried out by the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team and residents were allowed to return to their homes in the early hours of the morning.
No one was injured and no property damage was reported.
