Gardai in County Wexford are investigating a possible sex-tortion case involving approximately 200 women.
They've found themselves on a 'list' by a faceless Snapchat account, which claims to hold their explicit or personal images.
Gardai are urging anyone who suspects they are a victim of image based sexual abuse to report it to their nearest station.
Wexford Sinn Fein councillor Tom Forde received a screen-recorded video of the list and recognises many of the names:
"I have been contacted by a number of women who were on that list.
"I was also sent a video with a list of the names - approximately 200 women - that apparently detail folders of sensitive photos that this anonymous account held on these women.
"A lot of these women are from the local area so a lot of the names are very familiar."
In a statement, the Gardaí said:
"An Garda Síochána in the Eastern Region is investigating a number of reports concerning the posting, sharing and uploading of personal images online.
"The publication and/or sharing of intimate images without consent is a criminal offence. An Garda Síochána fully recognises that the publication of intimate images without the consent of individuals causes great upset and trauma to them.
"Any person who is concerned that they have been a victim following the uploading of personal explicit imagery online without their consent, at any time, should contact their local Garda Station.
"As this is an ongoing investigation, there is no further detail available at this time."
