Gardai are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Swords in county Dublin earlier today.
It's understood a man aged in his 40's sustained serious head injuries during a dispute with a second man, shortly before 1 o'clock this afternoon on the Main Street in Swords.
He was taken by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. The scene is preserved for a technical examination.
The second male, who is aged in his 30's, was arrested at the scene. He is been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act at Coolock Garda Station.
