Gardai have identified the body of a man discovered at a waste recycling plant in Dublin.

The dismembered remains of Mark Burke were located at the facility in Ballyfermot during the summer.

Gardai are appealing for the public's assistance in tracing the 37-year-old's final movements.

Our News Correspondent Fergal O'Brien reports:

On July 31st last - a human leg was discovered by workers at the Thornton's Recycling plant - on Killeen Road in Ballyfermot in Dublin.

During subsequent Garda searches - part of a skull was located.

It was later confirmed the body parts belonged to a man - who has now been been identified - following DNA tests - as 37-year-old Mark Burke from Dun Laoghaire in Dublin.

Garda spokesperson - Superintendent Paul Moran - says he'd been recently reported missing - but its not known when he was last seen:

Mark Burke's death is being treated as suspicious - but how he died has yet to be established.
