A murder investigation is underway following the deaths of Eoghan and Ruairi Chada.
The two young brothers, aged 10 and 5, were found dead following a car crash in Co Mayo on Monday.
They were last seen leaving their Co Carlow home on Sunday night with their father Sanjeev.
Post mortem examinations were carried out on the bodies of Eoghan and Ruairi Chada yesterday - however, the results will not be released for operational reasons.
The bodies of the two young brothers were found in the boot of a car which crashed near Westport on Monday afternoon - however, Gardaí believe they did not die from injuries sustained in the collision.
A murder investigation is now underway involving a significant amount of resources in both Mayo and in Ballinkillen in Co Carlow - where the Chada family live.
Gardai have yet to speak to Sanjeev Chada - who is still being treated in hospital for minor injuries sustained in the collision - and hope to do so later today.
