A woman who was found seriously injured in Co Cork this morning has died.
The woman in her 70s was discovered on the side of the road in Macroom.
She was discovered at Annagannihy Bridge, Rylane at 6:40am this morning.
She was removed to Cork University Hospital.
Earlier, gardaí in Macroom appealed for the public's help in trying to identify the woman.
In a statement this afternoon, they confirmed that the woman has since been identified.
Gardaí say the case is being treated as a sudden death, and a file will be prepared for the Coroners' Court.
