Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a road crash in which two people were killed and a third was critically injured.
It happened on the N2 at Mullaghanee, Castleblayney at around 6.15pm yesterday when a lorry collided with two cars.
A man and woman in their 60s, who were in one car, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman in her 60s, who was a passenger in the second car, is being treated for critical injuries at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of a rtc on the N2 at Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. The road is currently closed with diversions in place. pic.twitter.com/bvpFq6CSoo

Anyone with video footage and were travelling on the N2 at Castleblayney between 6.05pm and 6.30pm, are asked to contact gardaí.
