Gardai are renewing their appeal for information following an assault on an officer in Cavan a week ago.
Garda Padraig Scott - originally from Roscommon - remains off duty, recovering from his injuries and the trauma of the assault in Blacklion in the early hours of February 28th.

He was discovered doused in petrol and disorientated, having been assaulted and had a gun pointed at him.
Gardaí carried out a checkpoint on the N16 at Loughan in Co Cavan at the scene of the attack, last night, one week on from the incident.

Chief Superintendent Alan McGovern has described it as a cowardly attack, and is appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them.
