Gardai investigating an attempted hijacking in Cork City have arrested a man.
At around 7 o'clock last night a man approached a car that was pared on Grand Parade and threatened the two people inside.
He demanded they drive him to a location, and jumped into the cars back seat and produced a knife.
The car didn't move and the man got out of the car and ran off in the direction of Bishop Lucy Park.
No one was injured in the incident.
It was reported to Gardai while a description of the suspect was also provided.
A patrol of the area led to the arrest of a man in his late teens.
He's now being questioned at Bridewell Garda Station.
