A Garda aged in her 20s has been seriously injured after her patrol car was rammed in Dublin.
The incident happened in the Cian Lea estate in Swords at around 3.30am this morning, as officers were responding to a report of a white Nissan Micra acting suspiciously in the area.
When the Gardai arrived, the car drove directly at the patrol car, ramming it and injuring the Garda.
She was taken to Beaumont Hospital with a serious head wound and is due to undergo surgery.
The car used was later recovered at Talbot Hall in Dublin city centre by Gardai responding to calls relating to burglaries.
Following a search of the immediate area by Garda units, including the Garda helicopter, two men in their late teens were arrested.
They are being held at Coolock Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
