The interim Garda Commissioner says management will do all it can to ensure the whistleblower process works efficiently and effectively.
Noirin O'Sullivan made the remarks in an address to the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors annual conference in Co Kerry.
The Commissioner also says the force needs to change its relationships with the Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission and Garda Inspectorate.
